AI-Content & Editorial Policy

CanvasCook publishes two kinds of recipes: original chef recipes written and tested by Chef Munishwar or an approved chef, and AI-generated recipes created on demand by our recipe engine (OpenAI, Google Gemini and Anthropic models, with images from Google's image model).

• Every AI-generated recipe is labelled as such on its page and is kept out of the main Explore library until a chef or the site owner reviews it.
• Review means: checking the ingredient list and quantities are plausible, cooking times and temperatures are safe, steps are in a workable order, and the dish matches its title and image.
• Reviewed AI recipes that pass are promoted to the library with the AI label retained. Recipes that fail are edited or removed.
• We never present an AI recipe as having been kitchen-tested unless a chef has actually cooked it.
• Food Safety notes on every recipe are generated from a rule set based on USDA / FDA guidance — not from a language model — so temperatures and times are not invented.

Recipe Editorial-Quality Standards

Whether written by a chef or generated by AI, a published CanvasCook recipe must meet the following standards. Recipes not meeting them are cleaned up or unpublished.

• A clear, honest title that describes the dish (no clickbait, no misleading cuisine labels).
• A complete ingredient list with quantities and units, grouped into sections where helpful.
• Numbered, actionable steps with times, temperatures and visual cues where relevant.
• Accurate prep / cook time, servings and difficulty.
• A hero image that shows the actual dish. Generic or mismatched stock photos are replaced.
• Correct spelling and consistent formatting; no leftover placeholder text.
• Allergen and food-safety information present and accurate.

User-Generated Content & Chef Moderation

• Only approved chefs can publish recipes and videos. Regular users can save, rate and report recipes and may request chef status from their profile.
• Chefs can edit and unpublish only their own recipes and videos. The owner and admins can moderate all content.
• Any signed-in user can report a recipe for spam, offensive content, misinformation, copied content or other reasons. Reports go to the moderation queue and the owner is notified; three or more open reports on one item raise the priority.
• Moderators can dismiss a report, unpublish the item or (owner only) permanently delete it. Repeat offenders may have chef status removed or their account suspended.
• Chef Chat is a private space for the owner, admins and chefs. Messages may be edited by their author within five minutes and deleted by the author or a moderator.

Copyright & Image Review

• Original chef recipes, videos and photos belong to Chef Munishwar or the authoring chef. Please do not republish them without permission; a link back to the recipe page is always welcome.
• AI-generated images are created specifically for the recipe they illustrate and contain no third-party logos, text or watermarks. Stock photography, where still used, is licensed for editorial use.
• Chefs uploading images confirm they own them or have the right to use them. Images found to infringe copyright are removed on notice.
• If you believe content on CanvasCook infringes your copyright, email info@canvascook.com with: a link to the content, a description of the original work, proof of ownership, and your contact details. We review takedown requests within 7 days.
• Recipes as lists of ingredients are not protected by copyright, but the written instructions, photos and videos are. We ask contributors to write in their own words and never copy text from other sites.
